About Us

The Northwest Parkway is a 75-mile per hour public toll road that connects E-470 in the east, at I-25 (north of 144th Ave), with U.S. 36, in the west.

The Parkway has 23 structures, three major interchanges, four ramp toll plazas, one mainline toll plaza, a toll plaza administration building, and a three acre maintenance facility. The Parkway forms the Northwest section of a beltway system extending around the Denver Metropolitan area, which includes E-470 to the east and C-470 to the south and west. The Parkway connects with other tolled and non-tolled highways, including E-470, I-25 U.S. 36, and U.S. 287, providing convenient access to residential and employment centers within the northwestern metropolitan area, The Flatirons shopping area, Boulder, and the Denver International Airport (“DIA”).

The Parkway is a public road 100% privately funded. No federal funds were/are used on the Parkway. To learn more about our Investors click here.

We invite you to try our road and compare how safe, fast, and well maintained we are compared to the alternate routes. We look forward to serving you for many years.

Thank you for driving the Northwest Parkway,

The Staff

On July 1999 the Northwest Parkway Public Highway Authority (the “Authority”) was formed with the purpose of building an authority financed highway linking E-470/I-25 to US36, without resourcing to taxpayer money.

The Authority is comprised of two member jurisdictions, the City and County of Broomfield and the City of Lafayette. Ex-officio members are the Jefferson County, City of Arvada, Regional Transportation District (RTD), Interlocken Metropolitan District, and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).

Construction of the Parkway commenced in June 2001, under a design/build contract by the Authority. The Parkway opened to traffic on November 24, 2003, and toll collection commenced on January 1, 2004.

On November 21, 2007, the Northwest Parkway LLC (the “Concessionaire”), entered into a 99- year concession and lease agreement for the operation and maintenance of the Parkway from the Authority. To learn more about the Concession Lease click here.

On January 1, 2010, the Parkway converted to an All-Electronic Toll Road, meaning you no longer have to stop to pay your tolls when you travel, thus increasing convenience and safety.

On March 9, 2017, a Consortium formed by three infra-structure funds completed the acquisition of 100% of the Concessionaire Northwest Parkway LLC and its Operating Company Go-Pass Mobility Services LLC from former shareholder Brisa. More info about the new shareholders can be found here.
